Christmas 2006 Pictures

It took a million shots to get the perfect Santa Man picture for our Christmas card but we were finally able to get one that we really like. It looks like Corbin is laughing in this picture.

Corbin as Santa's Helper with Antlers on...

Our very favorite gift of 2006 was our precious son! We praise God for giving him to us!

Christmas Day 2006. It was hard to get our baby back for this picture. Everyone wanted to hold him!

Daddy and Corbin on Christmas Eve before we went to Mom and Dad's house to celebrate Christmas Eve with them...

Mommy and Corbin after we came home from Mom and Dad's to celebrate Christmas Eve with them. We came home and opened all of our gifts that night. George had bought gifts for Corbin and I had bought gifts for Corbin - but neither of us knew what the other had bought him. I opened the gifts that George bought and he opened the gifts that I bought. It made it really fun! Next Christmas, Corbin will be able to help open his own gifts! Yay!

Pictures of Corbin From His Second Month

This picture was taken at Corbin's Aunt Jeanne's house by none other than Aunt Jeanne! The tree that we are standing in front of is in her front yard and was sooooooo beautiful. We had gone over there for a play date with her son Aiden who is five weeks older than Corbin (I think that the mommies wanted the play date more than the babies). I was so excited that Corbin was born in the fall because it is my favorite time of year. This picture shows the beauty of the autumn season.

Thanksgiving at Corbin's Great-Grandmom and Great-Grandpop's house.

Corbin and Dr. Fitz, the doctor who delieved Corbin. We wanted to get a picture of her with Corbin the night that he was born but she said that she would rather wait until she was in the office and more dressed up. When I went back for my two week check-up, we had a picture taken of her with the baby, but the lighting was terrible. So this picture was taken about six weeks after he was born...We have a picture of Corbin with each of the doctors at our practice since each and every one of them was involved in his prenatal care and showed so much love to us. Since he was born via c-section, each of the doctors came to see us and spent time with us during our hospital stay.

It was so fun having my whole family at graduation and being able to introduce the baby to many of my friends. Some of my friends didn't even know that I was pregnant when classes ended in May and then I show up to graduation in December with the baby (I didn't actually finish my degree until August because I needed more time for my internship). George and Corbin watched the graduation ceremony from the second story window and watched as I walked across the stage and got my diploma. It was so neat seeing them cheer me on!

Our family at graduation. The funny thing is that George wore that same shirt the night that Corbin was born. It has now been labeled as a shirt that he wears for important events.

2006 Pre-Christmas Pictures

Our first official nice family photo...

The sleepy baby just could not make it through the whole photo session. The reason that he has a teddy bear on the side of him is because it is actually covering up George's hand which is holding Corbin up. The reason that Abi has a teddy bear to the side of her was because she kept reaching pass Corbin to get his teddy and was smacking him in the head. He didn't care - he still slept through the entire thing.

George's mom and dad had bought Corbin a Santa outfit which was too cute. I saw a matching dress at a store, so I bought it for Abi. We decided to dress the two cousins alike for this picture which looks adorable. I also found the "Baby's First Christmas" hats which they are wearing.

You have to believe us - we did not pose them like this at all but Corbin linked his arm through Abi's. We had to get the picture because it is toooooooo cuuuuute!

When we were done, we had to go see Santa!

Pictures of Corbin From His First Month

Last August (2006), I saw this outfit at Kohl's. I wanted it so very bad for our baby, not even knowing if he would be born in time for Halloween (he was due October 28th). I knew that if I waited until he was born, I would be too tired to find an outfit for him plus there probably would not be any left on the shelves! So, we got it and had taken it with us to the hospital. This is the outfit that Corbin came home from the hospital in (on October 27, 2006). I washed it again so he could wear it on Halloween (which is when this picture was taken).

We tried for so long to get a perfect picture of Corbin so that we could use it on our baby announcement. Here is the picture that we chose! It was so hard to get a picture of the baby with his eyes opened because he slept a lot for the first few days that he was home.

My Little Pumpkin! I originally wanted to get married in the fall because I loooooove autumn, but George wanted to get married in the spring. I said that was fine and we agreed to get engaged in the fall --- but George proposed in June so that thwarted that plan. I was soooo very excited when I found out that we were going to have an October baby. It seemed perfect to me.

My Little Turkey! One of the things that I also wanted to get before he was born was some pumpkins so I could take some pictures of the baby with pumpkins. 10 days before he was born, I went to Shadybrook Farm to pick out some perfect pumpkins for OUR perfect pumpkin.

Corbin's First Thanksgiving and Corbin's One Month Birthday! What a big day for such a little tyke!

Leaving the Hospital and First Week at Home

Here is Corbin in his car seat for the very first time. It was so nice to have him in there after spending a lot of time picking the perfect one out, taking the car seat safety course, and having it inspected by the Pennsylvania State Police Barracks. It was so exciting to take him home for the very first time!

Daddy is carrying Corbin into the house for the first time as Mommy hobbles in behind him. I couldn't carry anything heavier than Corbin's body weight for at least the first six weeks after surgery so George had to carry him in his car seat. After we brought him into the house, we put up "It's a Boy" signs outside announcing his birth!

Corbin was snuggling in the boppy our first night home waiting for Mommy and Daddy as they got ready for bed. He just looked too cute!!

What a cutie patootie all snuggled in the boppy asleep. It cracks me up that he was holding his fingers, even while asleep.

Hospital Pictures

Here is Corbin's "professional" hospital picture. They tried to take a picture of him on the rolling bassinet that they had but he wanted to snuggle with Mommy and Daddy! This picture of Corbin was actually taken while Corbin was snuggling with Daddy. He looks so much like his handsome papa in this picture.
Here Corbin is being held by Aunt Beki. He was so sleepy!
It was sooooooo sweet to watch Daddy and Corbin snuggle together in the hospital. Corbin was asleep all cuddled next to Daddy. Snuggling is one of our favorite family activities still to this date (except Corbin is much more active and doesn't stay still as long as he did back then).

Pictures From When Corbin Came to Our Room

Yay! My first time holding my handsome little guy. I was exhausted (and on some heavy pain medication by this point) but I loved every minute of it.

George's mom took this picture of Corbin so that she could share it with everyone. This picture was taken three hours after he was born. He was all bathed, swaddled, and very sleepy!

Corbin in his bassinet. He was such a little peanut!

George's First Time Holding Corbin and Announcing His Birth to Our Family and Friends

Daddy and His Little Man! I know that both George and I were very shook up about having the emergency surgery. I was so thankful that George was able to be in the room with me (after I was all numbed up and cut open, of course). When we heard Corbin's first cry, it was like music to our ears. I immediately welled up with tears because I was so ecstatic that he was here!

Daddy Admiring His Little Guy! After looking at George's baby pictures and looking at Corbin as a newborn, I am in awe of the similarities between the two. I always wanted a little boy that looked like my handsome husband - and I got one! What a gift from God!

The waiting room was filled with anxious people wanting to know what was going on. All that they knew was that I was having an emergency c-section and that everything was okay. I am sure that they knew that everything was NOT okay otherwise I wouldn't have needed the surgery. So, when George went out to the waiting room, I am sure that everyone was relieved to know that the baby and I were doing just fine. However, I wanted to be present when he announced to everyone the baby's name. That was one tough secret to keep quiet!!!

Corbin Joshua in the nursery. His temperature was slightly low so he was there under the warmer for quite some time. It was about three hours after he was born before I could really hold him. Then I didn't want to let him go...

The Evening of Corbin's Birth

When we went to the hospital, we thought that we were going for a routine induction. We had no idea what we were really in for! Since Corbin's heart rate was really high and would not come down, they decided to do a c-section. As it turns out, the cord was wrapped around his feet and he was kicking, trying to get it off. The funny thing is that he is a kicker and a dancer now. He is always moving his feet. I guess that we were getting a glimpse into who our little man is!

I was scared to death of the c-section because I have never had surgery before. The funny thing is that in between all of my convulsions (because I was terrified), calling our family and letting them know that the baby was going to be arriving very shortly, and being catheterized, we were still taking pictures! We almost left the digital camera in the car because we figured it would be a while before Corbin arrived - but he was here within 3 short hours of arriving at the hospital.

This was actually my second glimpse at our little angel. The first glimpse was when they peeked him over top of the blue tarp immediately after they pulled him out. Here he was at least wiped off and warm. After they put him on my chest and let me kiss him (I didn't know that my hands were tied down at the time so I couldn't have touched him if I wanted to), they let George hold him. Then, they whisked Corbin off to the nursery to weigh and measure him. He was 8 lbs even and 20 inches long.

Here the nurse is letting me get a glimpse of our baby. He looks like a mini version of George!

Love at first sight...

The Best Ultrasound Picture Ever - September 22, 2006

This ultrasound was a month and a day before Corbin was born. If you tilt the picture slightly, you can see Corbin's eyes, nose, mouth, and cheek bone. The amazing thing is that it really looks like his profile (maybe we just think that because we are so in awe of this ultrasound). Regardless, it is an amazing picture. He is smiling for Mommy and Daddy!

Our First Ultrasound - March 27, 2006

We were absolutely thrilled to be able to see our little pumpkin so early. Here he is at about 8 weeks gestation. We had no idea if he was a boy or a girl but it was soooo very amazing to see him on the screen. We stared and stared at his picture for months. We made copies of this picture for Corbin's grandparents, Uncle Russell, and Aunt Erin and gave them to them in Easter cards. Everyone was so excited and surprised that we were expecting a new little bundle of joy!
